Dianalysis is a cutting-edge Russian method of psychotherapy, psychological counseling, and coaching based on structured thinking. The method was developed by Vladimir Yuryevich Zavyalov, a doctor of medical sciences and professor. Dianalysis is effectively used to address addictions, neuroses, depression, complexes, phobias, organizational challenges, and marital counseling. Its key advantage lies in helping clients find optimal solutions to their problems in the shortest possible time. During a dianalytic session, the therapist—equipped with specialized knowledge—works alongside the client to explore their difficulties, sometimes through drawing or role-playing scenarios to identify the best resolution. Here’s an example illustrating the method’s impact with a single question: a student once asked for advice while we were walking to the metro. She recounted how her boss constantly humiliated and insulted her, eroding her self-esteem. Finally, she blurted out, "He told everyone I’m an idiot!" I asked, "And you believed him?" After a brief pause, she smiled and replied, "I think he was wrong." We then spent a few more minutes discussing how even authoritative leaders can make mistakes, why it’s unnecessary to take every word at face value, and how people often say regrettable things in anger. However, the true therapeutic breakthrough occurred the moment that question was posed.
