A brain-body therapy using eye positions to process and release stored trauma.
Brainspotting (BSP) is a body-oriented psychotherapy technique designed to address deep-seated trauma. It operates on the principle that psychological and emotional experiences are directly linked to eye positioning. By using specific eye positions (known as 'brainspots'), the therapist activates unconscious traumatic memories stored in implicit memory. The method combines focused activation of experience with 'focused mindfulness' to release blocked psychoemotional tension in both the body and mind.
