Couldn’t pass it by) Besides, the trailer really intrigued me!
I’ll say right away—I wasn’t expecting it! I wasn’t expecting the film to be so heavy and stand out for me; I wasn’t expecting such a strange, terrifying movie to be shown on the big screen!
And here, the horror isn’t like in "It" or "Saw." The horror comes from the feeling of reality. From understanding that this is actually happening. I kept waiting for it to turn out that everything was a dream or a vision of the characters. I waited in vain...
The film has a religious interpretation. I’ll share my personal take.
For me, the movie is about the cohabitation of a schizoid and a narcissist. The female protagonist is a schizoid. This is evident, among other things, from her words: "Drive these people away! Let’s just be alone!" The male protagonist is a narcissist. He can’t do without recognition, can’t do without the outside world.
In life, narcissists and schizoids coexist perfectly—like me, for example, with my husband. But the problem with the film’s characters is that they’re at the extreme end of their traits. She isn’t willing to let anyone into her home. She isn’t willing for anyone to even touch her life with her husband. He, on the other hand, is ready to give everything to others just to be worshipped.
So for me, the film was about the impossibility of two people being together when they only show one side of themselves, one polarity. Then they can’t hear each other.
And also about the impossibility of giving, of loving. The inability to do so. This aspect resonates with me personally, as a narcissist! And I’m grateful to the film for showing me the need to learn how to give and to love!
Not recommended for the faint-hearted or the weary)))
