Schema therapy is a method for reconnecting with your inner child and healing childhood wounds. Early childhood shapes the foundation of our psyche, particularly the emotional experiences we have with our parents. These experiences influence our relationships, emotional well-being, and our ability to feel secure and trusting in adulthood. If childhood lacked adequate support, attention, or safety, it can manifest later as anxiety, emotional instability, or relationship difficulties. During therapy, we work with the source of that pain — your inner child, who may have once felt neglected, abandoned, or unprotected. Schema therapy creates a safe, trusting space where clients can freely process their emotions, while their inner child receives the care and support they need. Originally developed for personality disorders and childhood trauma, this approach also helps resolve internal conflicts and foster emotional maturity.
