Narrative Therapy
A method that helps people reframe and rewrite personal stories to create new meanings and possibilities.
Narrative therapy (from the English *narrative* — «storytelling» or «account») is a modern approach in psychological counseling and psychotherapy. In simple terms, it’s about how people make sense of and shape their lives through the stories they tell themselves and others. In therapy, these stories are called *narratives*. The process unfolds like this: the client shares life stories—past and present—with the therapist, where participants might include family, friends, colleagues, or neighbors. Together, they explore these stories in varying levels of detail and engagement. Over time, the client develops a fresh, more holistic, and positive perspective on their life story—not just intellectually, but emotionally. This helps them cultivate a more optimistic and balanced view of themselves and their life.
