I watched the Russian film "Patients." Honestly, I wanted to turn it off and not finish watching it, but purely out of professional curiosity, I watched it to the end. Probably, after such a film, a terrible impression of psychoanalysts will form! Never. Never will a real professional psychoanalyst manipulate their client, give advice, or influence their life. Psychoanalysis does not aim to destroy the client and their life, making them incapable and dependent on the specialist's opinion. If you ever encounter such a psychoanalyst, know that this is definitely not a professional in their field.
The impression of the film is terrible, especially the fact that the husband relied on the psychoanalyst's opinion, while the wife relied on the priest, who, oddly enough, also gave advice and instructions. The priest says: "Have a child, and your marriage will improve." I have two questions about the film:
Maybe this is how it is in Russia, but I hope that our country and its people will not sink this low.
Psychoanalysis never imposes decisions or values. Religion and the church give us faith, not manipulation.
I could say a lot more, but I don’t feel like it... Especially about how the psychoanalyst broke the priest’s faith.... Yes, we all have our personal dramas, and based on life experience, we make our own choices about "how to live." Psychoanalysis helps us understand and accept our life story, but not destroy our lives and faith.
If anyone has watched the film, share your opinion about it in the comments.
